MFA THESIS EXHIBITION

Micro to Macro

 MFA Thesis exhibit

Micro to Macro is a body of work that examines and addresses the basic elements of design. While using color, texture, form, and time throughout my work, I hope to transform the space and surround the viewer with nature. The purpose of this exploration is to see not only the elements that are perfect but also the imperfections of the shapes, textures, color, and forms surrounding us. With Micro to Macro, I want to bring to life the smaller details within each object and make them more accessible to the audience.  From everyday things to amazing landscapes, I find myself inspired by not only forms but also by different textures and colors.  The art pieces in the exhibit are made to bring joy and beauty into the world.  To recreate these various textures and forms, different elements were used to complete the work including metal, foam, and print media.

Micro to Macro transforms these elements that are harsh or ugly into a beautiful form. The difficult times that we often have to overcome can change and evolve into something better. By making this work, I have been able to challenge myself and overcome obstacles that others thought impossible.
